In January, we showed in Albuquerque, Phoenix and Tucson.
Albuquerque

Marcos Nieves, SF born and bred, now in Albuquerque.

Marcos and Ray Chavez, who runs Microwave skateshop, took Andreas to the Indian School ditch.

Andreas backside smith at a christian skatepark with terrible music.

Andreas caught me trying to get arty.

January 10th-Guild Cinema
The Guild Cinema was another great venue for us. Keif, the owner, is a great guy and has had an interesting life traveling with bands. Before our show, we watched “Control”, a biopic piece about Ian Curtis, singer of Joy Division. It was filmed in black and white and based on his wife’s memoirs. Very well done. I don’t want to ruin the ending, but the main character dies in the end.

Andreas tried to help Marcos kick the habit.

Marcos’ son Fabian.

On the way out of town, we hiked around Petroglyph National Monument and checked out some ancient graffiti.

We took a not so short-cut over the mountains to avoid the boring interstate drive. It got really snowy and we had to dodge dogs and cows but it was well worth it.

Phoenix

We met up with Rob Welsh and he took us to some of the 20+ skateparks in the Phoenix area.
January 16th-The Lucky Devil Bar. We had our show on a pull down projection screen and had a good turnout.

Joe Hammeke.

Trent from Cowtown skateshop and Wez Lundry.

Lee Bender.

Scott Copalman and ladyfriend. Copalman is in film school now and brought a film that we showed prior to UnderSkatement.

Rob Nordstrom and Hammeke.

We stayed a couple of nights with Andreas’ friend Pat and his family.

Cactus.

a Love Bowl, probably demolished by now. Did someone ever grind it?

Tucson
When we arrived in Tucson, our friend Omer Kreso gave us directions to his friends house, telling us to look for smoke…

Aaron Suski, new daddy, took us to some ditches.

Doug Switalski.

Omer and Doug.

We were interviewed on a morning zoo program for a pop radio station. Andreas said “liquor and whores” on air. Listen.

Terry from “Fix-Push”-screen test at The Loft.

Another great venue and manager, Jeff Yanc.
In March, Andreas will be taking the show to the East coast as I take it to the Dirty South. In April, UnderSkatement goes to Australia. Check our tour schedule for upcoming dates.
