UnderSkatement is a traveling film festival featuring the best in skater-made short films. The 2007-2008 program was the fourth collection of UnderSkatement films since debuting in 2001.
Although skateboarding is the reason we put together UnderSkatement in the first place, we hope to focus just as much on the act of film making. And while we do feature skate shorts, our main goal is to promote film as a medium that is influenced by skateboarding, lending exposure to the contributing filmmakers in the process. Our programs include narrative pieces, documentaries, music videos, experimental shorts, and more. In the past we’ve featured horror movies, sketch comedy, political commentary, satire, animation, travel documentaries, and interviews – all of it brought together through skateboarding. Whether you used to skate, currently skate, adore or abhor skateboarders, these films will entertain you.
